Type III Roadway Lights

Type III roadway lights deliver a broader lateral light distribution for streets, commercial access roads, collector roads, parking facility approaches, and outdoor transportation corridors requiring illumination across a wider paved surface. Type III LED roadway lighting is commonly used where pole-mounted fixtures must distribute light farther across the roadway than a narrower Type II optical pattern while maintaining controlled illumination along the direction of travel. The IES Type III classification describes the horizontal distribution of the fixture and must be evaluated alongside its actual photometric performance, mounting height, pole spacing, arm length, and roadway geometry.
